    Points needed for Automatic Promotion/Safety

Ok, Do any of you league 2 Gays know roughly how many points will be needed for the Massive(ish) teams like Walsall and Swindon to get out of this hellhole?

Also How many points do you think the minnows will need to stay up?

Less than 50 as there's only two teams that get relegated.

And about 80 points to get auto promoted

We scabbed into third place on 81 last season

think it'll be at least mid-80s to get an auto spot this season, the top teams this season seem more consistent than last time around.

Most manager says let get 50points 1st just so you stay up but i think it be 75-80 to go up this season!

I've always gone on the fact 2 points a game will see you up as champions with 92...alot of teams are very close to averaging 2 a game...
    From the FA Rule Book:

Rule 5: You must not, at any time, be Paolo Di Canio. Our efforts to enforce this rule are vigorous and will continue for the foreseeable future.

I always go by 70 for playoffs, 80 automatic and 90 champions give or take a few points. Relegation could be as low as 40 and as high as 55.

Agreed, I think it'll be the sort of season where 3rd place may need between 80-85 points minimum. I can't see it being one of those where someone can fluke it with 77 because the league is so inconsistent.

75 may be the minimum for the play offs because there is a large points difference developing between the top 10 and the rest.

That also means that you won't need so many points to stay up; 50 should easily gurantee survival this year. Maybe even 40-45 IMO

We have the same number of points as we did last season at this stage but last year we were top by a point.
The third place team had 30 points which isn't even a play off spot at the moment

How are Cheltenham comparing to their last campaign in League 1? Looks like a similar trend is emerging, won't be long till Donkey Gould returns I assume?

to be fair, this is the one thing you can't accuse Cheltnumb of being anywhere near likely to do, you've got your pathway to basement disaster firmly nailed on with no prospect of anything else.

If Walsall,Wycombe, swindon and Lincoln=Hopefully all go up=this league two forum, wouldn't have many posters on it week in week out.

Saying all this IF Cheltenham come down, they do have a few fans who would post!
